I have found 3 wedding dresses online that I LOVE!! I don't want to order my dress online?
in case it doesn't look right on me, or doesn't fit right. Does anyone know if local bridal dress shops will do the alterations if needed if the dress was bought somewhere else not from them? Or can local bridal shops such as The Wedding Bell, Letts, or Davids Bridal order the dress for you so they will do the alterations. I would really love one of these dresses for my wedding,I am just nervous about ordering it online and it not fitting correctly. We are having a Halloween wedding so I am guessing a lot of the bridal shops will not have a dress like it. Thanks!

My best friend got married in June so what's she playing at??!!?
Im getting married next year and as a surprise my best friend planned a night away in newcastle so we could visit the bridal shops. On the train to Newcastle she started telling me that a guy that used to fancy her lives there. They went for a one date but he got too heavy and began stalking her which she says put her off. That was 5 years ago. Since then she's met a lovely guy who she married in June. Anyway, she started telling me that the ex had been in touch with her on facebook and he was telling her all the best places to go for cocktails. So during the day we went shopping, she bought huge stilleto heels and chicken fillets for her bra and dragged me back to the hotel to get ready for going out that night. I started complaining my feet hurt from all the walking that day and asked if we could just go to the bar across the road, she went funny and insisted we go to the cocktail bar her ex suggested. So, after tarting herself up (more than she would normally do) we made our way to this bar and what a surprise HE works behind the bar!! My friend sat and flirted outrageously with him all night, all i could think about was her poor husband back home. I tried confronting her by saying 'you knew he worked here all along' but she just changed the subject and continued acting like a complete tart in front of him, in the end i had to drag her back to the hotel as she was in one hell of a state. When she woke up in the morning she went back to normal and started talking about how much she misses her husband etc. Im really confused with her behaviour, i dont know what to do as im really good friends with her husband aswell.

When Ordering Bridesmaids dresses...?
When ordering bridesmaids dresses, is it best to order them all at once? One of my bridesmaids brought up the fact that they might look slightly different in color if I don't. But my Matron of Honor just moved to a town about 4 hours away from where we live and she can't really come up as much as she would like to, but she's a size 4 and it won't take long to find a dres she looks good in. My other bridesmaids are more curvy, but they all live in town or very close. I am going to the bridal shop with my three bridesmaids in october to try and find dresses that work for their body types, and I was planning on going later on with my Matron of Honor. Should I wait to order the dresses all at once?? Or would it be ok to order seperately??? I don't know how much of a difference different dye-lots can make.

What happens if 'the dress' is only?
'the dress' for those that see you in it? They think that the dress says your name all over it. Obviously, I love the dress or would not have put out the money for it but I don't feel like it's 'the dress'. I don't think that I'll ever find 'the dress' to be honest. Im WAY too picky. I liked the way this dress looked on me but there was some issues with the halter neck line (it looks like Elvis' to be honest). The ladies at the bridal shop assured me that it could be 'taken care of'. Ah, Im so wishy washy on it. I feel beautiful in the dress and all that but Im not like 'OMG' over it or anything. Anyone else go through this? Maybe I feel this way because Im a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and not into dressing up. Thanks Ashley. Thats sort of how I felt. I lit up when I saw myself in the dress. But it wasn't overwhelming or anything like that. But my Mom and friends kept saying "Oh my god, that's the dress".. and "That dress has your name on it" and blah blah blah.. but I totally didn't get that.

Should I buy this wedding dress online?
I found the wedding dress of my dreams but it's really expensive brand new. So, just to see what I would find, I looked up the dress online and found the dress in my size and with the specifications I wanted for half of what I'd pay in the bridal shop. I'm nervous, though, because it is online (not even through eBay... through a classifieds website called preloved.com). I've contacted the seller, who has been truthful about one flaw on the dress (that it's dirty under the train, which I don't care about), but I'm still freaked out about doing this transcation because it is so risky. So, the question is: what should I do? I should note that I've already tried the same dress on at a bridal shop where I live (Albuquerque, NM), which is how I know I love it so much. I have four different pictures of the one that I'm interested in from preloved, from several different angles, and it looks fine (but do I trust pictures? Hmmm...)

I feel like I've been ripped off, I need advice.?
Scenario- I am a professional photographer. I left my portfolio at a bridal shop for potential brides to look at to view my photos, with the hope that they will book me for their wedding; the owner agreed this. 4 weeks ago the owner of the bridal shop took on a new member of staff, this staff member woks in the bridal shop on their own, and just so happens to also be a professional photographer (not a very honest or good one!). I have tried to retrieve my portfolio from the shop, as I was growing concerned that she is selling my work as her own. I have been in to collect it, and the owner has also asked for my portfolio back but she says that she has never seen it. So, I did a bit of investigative work???? I sent a client in to ask to look at her photography work. She pulled out an exact replica of my portfolio i.e.: set-up, style and txt, except she had her own material within it. She has totally ripped off my portfolio- which when you work for yourself takes an awful lot of time and money to produce. I rang her that evening and let her know that I am aware that she has copied my portfolio; hence I know that she either has had or does have my portfolio. I explained to her that I didn?t mind that she had copied my ideas but I will be in on Tuesday to collect my portfolio, which she clearly knows where it is. This morning she sent me a really nasty text that she wasn?t working in the bridal shop all week (but I know she is as I saw her) and that she made her portfolio on a website that is open for all the public to use. I agree the website is open to public use but it is just a very large coincidence that she has selected everything exactly the same as mine- I know this seems rather petty but it?s not. My portfolio has taken years to make, she has clearly seen it because she has copied it. How can I get it back? I feel like writing to her to demand it back but she says she has never seen it.

did you give your bridesmaids a say in their dresses for the wedding?
or did you say this is it? I took 2 of my 5 girls to the bridal shop last night with me for my fitting and had them each try on only one dress, bc we ran short on time. Well the one liked it, but didn't like how low the back went, and the other looked like she was being marched to her death and complained and said she wanted a short dress, even tho it looked awesome on her. It seems I have been running into lots of diva like behavior from a few directions. Did you have to deal with any catty bridesmaids, or did you give them free rein on dress style as long as it stuck with your color scheme?
