So here's the deal?
My best friend, my maid of honor, is being so friggin' nasty to me lately. She has 'accidently' got the times wrong when we were supposed to meet up to go look for dresses for my bridesmaids, she is very inconsiderate like that all the time. She refused to go Bridal Dress shopping with me, and I wound up doing it alone, which really hurt me, made me cry. I rent an apartment from her mom. She lives at home with her mom as well. Doesn't pay rent, I alone put more into that household then she does and my fiancee pays an equal share as me. Today my son had a friend over and we all went down to use the pool because I have been told that it is open for mine, my sons and my fiancee's use. If it was more then a couple of kids I would have asked, but it was just the 2 kids. I get down there and my best friend and a bunch of her friends are hanging out by the pool drinking beer, and I don't think anything of it, this is what adults do..... After about 2 hours she comes up to me and says that the kids aren't welcome because the adults were hanging out and besides that when her son isn't around she doesn't want to see any kids. But I'm welcome to hang out. I know she's been drinking but that really upset me. She doesn't own the house or contribute to the household at all. Mooches off her mom and BF and then complains about my son being in a pool that I pay for him to use at, according to the landlady, my discretion. I'm so confused how to handle this. When someone tells me my sons not welcome, thats the same as telling me I'm not welcome. mgctouch, Actually my finacee is wonderful and she knows it. I have tried a couple of times to talk to her about her inconsideration and she tells me that I need to accept her for who she is, and I accept most of it, but it's almost like she's going out of her way to alienate me. When we went to go get the brides maids dresses, the only time she was actually not late, on the way home she was crying hysterical about her estranged husband and how she cheated on him, etc. So I think my wedding is having a big impact on her, but I am definately not deserving of the way she is treating me. My wedding is less then 3 months away and I have my sister and friends asking me when shes going to call them for the shower....

I need some advice my sister hates me?
I'm 13 and my sister's 31. So i'll explain the situation. So it started like this we got in a fight (not rlly a fight ) but I kind of tried to avoid her when she got in egaged because I didn't want to tell her how I felt then she moved out. It's been a moth since I ahve talked to her. Okay one day she knocked on my door this day I was really upset caus eof something my family did and when I right in my journal i get emotional and stuff. But she knocked on my door i answered it and said what she just stood there and smiled. So I shut the door. And then another time she was going bridal dress shopping and on the 4th of July my sunt told me my sister was going to invite me and let me know she was going on saturday. But she never told me and saturday i was sitting outside with my aunt and my mom then they went with her when they got in the car . My sister goes Vanessa do you want to come" so i thought about it in my mind and then said no. Because she never even asked me to be a .. bridemaid . So yesterday was my birthday every year for my birthday she usually calls and says happy brithday but i waited all day and no call or text message. So today she came over never said happy birthday. And told my mom and aunt she replaced me as a bridesmaid with her friend. And tomorrow's my birthday party and i doubt she'll come. She hates me what can i do ?? I also try to play her favorite songs very loud but she never says anything. She won't talk to me ever since her engagement. I'm mostly upset cause she won't say happy birhtday too me and now its jsut a little too late to say it. Do you think she'll come if i don't call? I get nervous when i call someone who never answers the phone. What can i say in a text message?

Future daughter-in-law not having bridal shower, just events that aren't mother-in-law friendly. Help?
Found out yesterday, FDIL not having bridal shower, she hates them, doesn't want me or my side to throw one for her. But she is having a bachelorette party, that I am not invited to, yet her mother is, she is also having a bridesmaid party that I am not invited to and there is also a pajama party the night before the wedding that is just for family-HER family, mom, aunts, cousins. These are the only prewedding bridal events that are happening. I am not going bridal dress shopping as her mom is making the wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses. What should I say or do? The sad thing is that all of my friends that have sons have had this wedding exclusivity happen with them as well. The brides just did not want to include their FMIL.

becoming a dress designer and opening a buissness ?
When I am older I want to be a dress designer so when I go to college i will study fashion. But i also want to study photography. When I am older to start off my career i want to work in a bridal / dress shop and actually make the dresses or sew them together if you know what i mean. When that kicks off i would like to own my own dress / bridal shop also doing photography for weddings when they but a dress. Do you think that is a good career and a good income. How much do you think it will cost to rent a lot I LIVE IN LONDON so do you think people are more likely to buy dresses. I am planning on opening the shop in central london thanks

Brides: Question about bridesmaid etiquette?
I was the Maid of Honour for my best friend's wedding, and I wanted to explain everything I did, and your opinion on whether or not I should feel guilty. I introduced the bride to the groom back in 2000, and they've been together ever since. We're Canadian - and he's from Bermuda - so I flew to Bermuda ($500 flight) for their engagement party. There were only two of us bridesmaids including ,and the other one was on maternity leave, so although we split the costs of the bachelorette ($300 each) and shower ($250 each - in a location 3 hrs from my home, as requested) - I did all the planning, preparation, hosting etc. Since the groom was out of the country throughout most of the engagement, I drove the bride to 17 different bridal dress shops in 11 different towns, took her to every fitting, cake tasting, photographer interview etc. Right before the actual wedding, the bride and groom eloped (secretly), to speed up the process of theme moving in together in Bermuda (passports, etc). At that time, I went with them out of town for the elopement, and helped pay for the "wedding dinner" at the restaurant. I want to express - that it was a labour of love, and I am not complaing, and I would do it again in a heart beat. ... It's just that in the months leading up to the wedding - I was laid off work. When the time came for the (out of town) wedding, I couldn't afford a gift. I was so humiliated, but my mother told me that she's my best friend, and that she'd understand. For their 1st anniversary (of the elopement) - I sent them a photo album of pictures from their secret ceremony, as well as a beautiful copy of my Maid of Honour speech, from the Official ceremony. I had wanted to give them more, but times are still tough, even though I've returned to work. I just sometimes lay awake at night, and worry that they secretly think less of me. So I guess my question is - brides, would you think less of your Maid of Honour, if she didn't give you a gift on your wedding day? Thanks for your honesty. Awww ladies - thank you so much.
